DANCE WAS NEVER MEANT TO FIT INSIDE A BOX.
A new category-driven dance competition built around performance intent.
WHY LEVELESS
WHAT DESERVES
TO BE SEEN?
There are technicians and storytellers. Dancers who make us laugh, move us to tears, or command the stage before the first beat drops. LEVELESS begins with a simple belief: those strengths deserve to be understood on their own terms.
We are building a category-driven competition where dancers choose the intent of a routine—Character, Emotional, Pop, Power, or Story—and judges evaluate how successfully that intent reaches the stage.
WHO BELONGS HERE
MORE WAYS TO ARRIVE.
Developing dancers, advanced dancers, returning performers, independent dancers, studio teams, and adults all belong on the same stage. Age and entry divisions organize the event. Traditional skill-level labels do not.
WHAT WE MEASURE
INTENT IS NOT GENRE.
A style can serve more than one purpose. Contemporary may be Emotional, Power, or Story. Hip hop may be Pop, Character, Power, or Story. The category tells judges what the routine is trying to do.
WHAT STAYS RIGOROUS
TECHNIQUE STILL MATTERS.
Level-less does not mean standard-less. The 100-point rubric measures Category Execution, Performance and Stage Presence, Musicality, Technique and Execution, and Choreography and Creativity.
THE DANCER EXPERIENCE
MAKE ROOM
FOR THE PERSON.
The competition day is being designed with intentional entry limits, fast awards, digital critiques, independent registration, and a low-stimulation Reset Room. The goal is a focused day where dancers can perform, recover, learn, and celebrate without disappearing inside a label.
LEVELESS changes what gets measured. It does not remove the work, the craft, or the responsibility to execute well.
